Rome’s sacred vestals on the HBO set, a mythical catwalk for Renato Balestra
The triumph of the eternal art and timeless masterpieces of Renato Balestra in the empiric scenes of the majestic eternal city
Last night for the opening of the Roman Fashion Week Balestra amazed us with a leap in time back to ancient Rome.
His Fashion Show took place in the HBO film settings created in the Cinecittà studios for the “ROME” series.
The immersive surrealistic sensation of being back in the ancient times where the models seemed as were the priestess of Vesta coming out from the temple of Jupiter.
This mystical Roman Imperial atmosphere in this setting with the wind and music and these breathtaking dresses blowing in the wind and the spectacular red and purple lighting made it all seem as a sacred ceremony in honor of Renato Balestra as a tribute to him as a god of high fashion in Rome, emphasizing his glamorous collection of timeless masterpieces.
A real tribute for him couldn’t be more iconic both for his immense love for Rome from where he got his main inspirations from, his love and connection to the cinema. The most famous people around the world from queens to princesses even the Empress Farah Diba, stars, jet-set and Diva’s adored and adore his creativeness.
“Fashion is Culture” as the theme of the exhibition of a 150 drawing and sketches that he exposed in April of 2011 in the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles where all his famous admirers around the States came to admire the initiation of his creations.
With the creation that coined that will probably be eternally recognized is the “Blu Balestra “ a very unique shade of blue, very intense that became a very chic iconic color, and in this defile, in fact, one of the most stunning dresses was that of Ava Gardner style (one of his most passionate clients ), that as soon as it came down the temple of Jupiter’s stairs people stood up to applaud the stunning beauty such a color and such a dress has. Even though I must say not one of the dresses and proposals were not impressively stunning and a dream for any woman to be able to wear such masterpieces. If I had one chose of the impressive garments that came out of the temple and down the runway it would be a hard choice for I would want them all !!!
But if I had only one choice, the orange one was so flabbergasting that I can’t get it out of my mind.
Which one would you pick ?
