Herculaneum

Herculaneum is a remarkable ancient Roman town located in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius. Although smaller than its neighbor Pompeii, it was a more exclusive destination where many of Rome's wealthiest aristocrats lived in luxurious villas. Buried under volcanic mud, the town's wooden structures and organic materials were exceptionally well-preserved, offering an intimate glimpse into the high-end lifestyle of the Roman elite through stunning mosaics and grand thermal baths.
